Dr. Timothy Hunt Speaks at 2026 NYS Sheriffs’ Conference

Dr. Timothy Hunt, PhD, Associate Director of Columbia University’s Social Intervention Group and Principal Investigator of the TechMPower Study focused on an integrated approach to Substance Use and HIV treatment and prevention, presented at the 2026 New York State Sheriffs’ Association Jail Administrators’ Conference September 15th in Saratoga Springs.

His presentation, “The Jail-to-Community Transition as a Public Safety and Public Health Opportunity: Practical Strategies for New York County Jails,” highlighted approaches to strengthening health services, continuity of care, and successful community reentry for people leaving jail. 

The audience brought together sheriffs, jail administrators, health care organizations, and state officials—creating an important opportunity to connect public safety and public health around practical strategies for improving reentry outcomes.
