SIG's Associate Director Dr. Dawn Goddard-Eckrich will present "Associations Between Drug Overdose and Experiences of Violence Among Women in Community Supervision in New York City" at the 14th International Women's and Children's Health and Gender Group Conference.
The session will be part of the 10:00 AM panel "Panel I: Women’s Intersectional Burden: Substance Use, Stigma, Criminal Justice, and Drug Trafficking."
The presentation includes research from SIG's E-WORTH study. Empowering African American Women on the Road to Health, or E-WORTH, was designed by and for Black women. E-WORTH is a new cultural adaptation of WORTH, which was selected as a best practice by the CDC, and builds upon the historical strengths, resilience, and sense of community that Black women share.
