Bio

Karega Fordyce is the HEALing Communities Study (HCS) Project Coordinator at the Columbia University School of Social Work’s (CSSW) Social Intervention Group (SIG). He works closely with the HCS Senior Project Director to provide support to the Study.

Mr. Fordyce has project management and coordinating experience in various fields such as healthcare, educational publishing, and entrepreneurial businesses.

Most recently, Mr. Fordyce worked at NYU Langone Health as the Project Coordinator for Partner Relations and Engagement at NYU Langone Brooklyn Performing Provider System (PPS), part of New York State’s Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program. The statewide, $8 billion program focused on a 25 percent reduction in avoidable hospital use over five years. Under this umbrella, he provided guidance and support for over 30 clinical and community partners. Additionally, Mr. Fordyce supported projects for the Patient Relations and Engagement at the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone Health, one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) systems in the United States. Karega also worked as a Community Health Worker for the Decision Coaching Intervention for Prostate Cancer Screening at the Family Health Center, NYU Langone Health. 

Mr. Fordyce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Pace University and is also a certified Medical Assistant. He is currently working on an MBA for Healthcare Administration.
