Bio

Gisselle is a graduate research assistant for the SIG WINGS+PrEP study. She is a first-generation college graduate from the University of California Merced. She is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her research background stems from her undergraduate experience as a research assistant in an entomology lab that focused on addressing health inequities related to dengue fever transmission by Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes in the Merced, CA community. Her research experience and graduate studies in public health have shaped her passion to explore further and address the cross-section of mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and the social determinants of health in marginalized communities of color. In her free time, she loves to bake sweet treats, create picture collages, and is a foodie who loves exploring New York City for some new tasty treats and good eats!
