NIDA HEALing Communities Study (HCS) Program Director Redonna Chandler, PhD, will discuss this ground-breaking study with its community-driven approach, giving an update on its progress and its impact on the expansion of access to evidence-based strategies, the improvement of data availability and timeliness, the reduction of stigma through public health communications campaigns, and modification of relevant policies to create a significant decrease in fatal opioid overdoses.

Investigators from the following academic institutions joined together to implement the HEALing Community Study and sponsor these talks: Columbia University’s CHOSEN Center on Addiction, the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University Information Technologies, City University of New York’s School of Public Health, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Cornell University’s Department of Population Health Science.

Moderated by Dean Melissa Begg and University Professor, Nabila El-Bassel
