Munira Makhmudova

Munira Makhmudova has been working in the field of social work practice since 2010, with professional experience in family strengthening, social work education, and research. Her work combines direct social work practice, academic teaching, and research activities aimed at strengthening the social service workforce and advancing professional social work in Uzbekistan.

For five years, she worked as a Social Worker in the Family Strengthening Service at SOS Children’s Villages Uzbekistan in Tashkent, where she provided support to vulnerable children and families, conducted social assessments, and implemented family support and case management interventions focused on preventing family separation and improving child well-being.

From 2019 to 2025, Munira served as a lecturer at the National University of Uzbekistan, contributing to the education and professional preparation of future social workers. Since 2022, she has also been actively engaged in research activities, focusing on issues related to social work practice and workforce development. She is currently pursuing her dissertation on the topic of labor motivation of social workers.

Since joining the Center for Advancing Community Strengths and Social Wellbeing, Munira has been involved in research, professional development initiatives, and activities aimed at strengthening community-based social services and improving the quality of social work practice in Uzbekistan.

Her professional interests include social work education, workforce development, social worker motivation, family strengthening services, and evidence-informed social work practice. She has participated in numerous professional trainings and certification programs related to social work practice and social work education.
