Bio
Yuwei Wu is a master's student at the Columbia University School of Social Work and is excited to join the SIG team. Her interests include mental health care, community engagement, and violence prevention. Yuwei will be contributing to the WINGS project, an evidence-based intervention designed to help women recognize intimate partner violence (IPV), develop safety plans, and connect with support services. She will also support the adaptation of WINGS Caribbean, which tailors the intervention to better meet the cultural and social needs of Caribbean communities.
Before coming to Columbia, Yuwei earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. She has experience working as a psychiatric assistant in hospital settings and has volunteered with organizations that provide care for children with autism. With a background in mental health advocacy and community service, Yuwei is committed to promoting well-being and supporting underserved communities through research, intervention, and collaboration.
