Bio

Sam D. Gardner is a Master in Public Health (MPH) Epidemiology student and Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) student. Previously they have worked as Research Coordinator on the HEALing Communities Study under Dr. Dawn Goddard-Eckrich and Dr. Tim Hunt and is currently a research assistant on Dr. Silvia Martins' research team developing a codebook for prenatal and postpartum legislative policies in 50 U.S. states as well as led/co-leading several papers in progress and one under review. Sam is currently leading a latent class analysis and paper under the mentorship of Dr. Alissa Davis focused on examining co-occurring HIV, substance, and sexual/gender minority stigma among adolescents and young adults in Kazakhstan. Sam received their bachelor's from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Sam is currently applying for Ph.D. programs in Epidemiology.
