Doctoral Students

SIG trains doctoral students at the Columbia School of Social Work by providing opportunities to gain direct, hands-on experience in all phases of research. These activities may include development of research questions, instrument development and validation, data collection, data analyses, and grantwriting. SIG researchers also work closely with doctorate students throughout the dissertation.

Global Health Center of Central Asia: In collaboration with the Kazakhstan National University, the Center hosts an exchange program for pre and post doctoral scholars.

Via a T32 grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, a joint initiative led by SIG researchers at the Columbia School of Social Work and the Mailman School of Public Health (SMS/MSPH) aims to train the next generation of pre- and post-doctoral scholars in the prevention, treatment, and care of HIV and drug abuse among individuals in the criminal justice system.
