Dr. Louisa Gilbert, a Co-Director of SIG and Associate Professor of CSSW, will present a webinar on recent research findings on WINGS (Women Initiating New Goals of Safety) on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. WINGS is an evidence-based screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment and service (SBIRT) tool designed to address intimate partner violence among women who use drugs or alcohol. WINGS may be delivered using a computerized self-paced tool or by a case manager. These two different modalities of WINGS IPV SBIRT model have recently been evaluated in a randomized controlled trial with substance-using women in community corrections with promising results. This webinar will provide an overview and demonstration of the core components of WINGS, a single session one-hour intervention. It will also discuss organizational strategies for implementing WINGS.
